Winter Themed Animals, Birds, Still Life and People

17 November to 15 December 2026
5 Tuesdays | £100

Five creative weeks exploring the drama of winter and seasonal subjects.

We’ll capture the movement of ice skaters in charcoal, paint winter birds on sheet music and spend two weeks exploring British wildlife inspired by Angela Harding. We’ll finish with a festive still life of Christmas decorations.

Morning: 10.00 am to 12.30 pm or  Afternoon: 1.30 pm to 4.00 pm

​Colour, Still life and Portraiture

Morning: 10.00 am to 12.30 pm or  Afternoon: 1.30 pm to 4.00 pm

A varied course moving from colourful still life and natural forms towards portraiture and expressive painting.  We’ll explore fruit, playful interiors inspired by Mary Fedden RA, butterflies, beetles and flowers. We’ll then look at faces, eyes and hair before bringing our ideas together in a two-week portrait project.

WHAT TO BRING

Please bring your usual painting and drawing materials, including your choice of watercolours or acrylics, suitable brushes and paper, pencils, a palette, water pot and a cloth or kitchen roll.

Refreshments are provided, along with any specialist materials needed for a particular session. Doors open 15 minutes before each class.

CANCELLATIONS

Workshop and class payments are non-refundable unless your place can be filled. If I need to cancel a workshop or class, you will receive a full refund.
