Zoë Day

Zoë Day is a classically trained artist who has further developed her practice through study at the Heatherley's School of Art in Chelsea, the Ruskin School of Art in Oxford, and the Florence Academy of Art. Her work has since been exhibited and collected internationally, with several successful exhibitions, including Stowe House and Woburn Abbey.

For over a decade, Zoë ran her own art school, teaching and mentoring hundreds of students while continuing to develop her own practice. In recent years, she has travelled extensively, gathering inspiration from a wide range of landscapes and environments. Now based in the heart of England, her work reflects a sustained engagement with the natural world, with a particular focus on birdlife.

 

Working primarily en plein air, Zoë’s paintings capture fleeting light, atmosphere, and movement with an expressive, impressionistic approach. Her subjects range from expansive rural landscapes to the quiet presence of birds in their natural habitats, each piece informed by direct observation as well as studio refinement. Using carefully selected pigments and traditional techniques, her work seeks to convey both the immediacy and enduring beauty of the environments she encounters. Her bird paintings and landscapes are held in private collections internationally.

 

Zoë accepts a limited number of commissions each year and welcomes enquiries regarding available work or studio visits.
